Pakistan Hails Afghan Measures Against Cross-Border Terrorism

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Pakistan has acknowledged the proactive measures taken by the Afghan-led interim government in its fight against cross-border terrorism, hailing the relocation of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants from the border regions as a significant and positive development.

Asif Durrani, Pakistan’s special representative on Afghanistan, expressed his appreciation for the recent steps taken by Afghanistan to address the concerns of Pakistan and its neighboring countries, including China, regarding cross-border terrorism. However, he cautioned against premature speculation regarding the outcome of these efforts.

Since the Afghan Taliban regained power in August 2021, Pakistan has experienced an upsurge in terrorist attacks, with the TTP being held responsible for numerous cross-border incidents. In response, Pakistan has urged the interim Afghan rulers to take decisive actions against these terrorists.
