Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Jordan Condemn Israeli Provocation at Al-Aqsa

The governments of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan have strongly condemned the provocative actions of Israeli officials at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem, after Israel’s far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir visited the site and was seen praying there on Sunday.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif denounced the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli ministers and settler groups under police protection, calling it a direct assault on Muslim sanctities and international law. He warned that such provocations threaten peace and stability in the Middle East, urging the revival of a credible peace process leading to a viable Palestinian state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs also issued a strong condemnation, warning that repeated violations by the Israeli occupation authorities fuel regional conflict. Jordan, the custodian of the holy site, described the minister’s visit as an unacceptable provocation and a violation of the status quo governing the compound.

Meanwhile, Hamas labeled the visit a dangerous escalation, calling on Palestinians to defend Al-Aqsa against Israeli aggression. The incident has heightened fears of further instability and conflict across the Middle East.
