Pakistan, Regional States Reject Gaza Expulsion

[post-views]

Pakistan and six regional countries expressed “deep concern” over Israeli remarks about opening the Rafah Crossing in one direction, which appeared aimed at transferring Gaza residents into Egypt. The statement followed consultations among the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, UAE, Indonesia, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.

The ministers reaffirmed their “absolute rejection” of any attempts to displace Palestinians from their land. They called for full adherence to the US-proposed “Trump Plan,” including two-way movement at the Rafah Crossing and freedom of movement for the population.

They emphasized the need to create conditions allowing Palestinians to remain in Gaza and actively participate in rebuilding efforts. The ministers appreciated former President Trump’s commitment to regional peace and urged immediate progress on implementing the plan to ensure security, humanitarian access, and relief for civilians.

The statement highlighted early recovery, reconstruction, and support for the Palestinian Authority to resume governance in Gaza as part of broader regional stability. The ministers also reaffirmed their readiness to collaborate with the US and international partners to implement UN Security Council Resolution 2803 and other relevant resolutions.

They stressed the ultimate goal of a sovereign Palestinian state along pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, ensuring a just, sustainable, and internationally recognized two-state solution.
