Senior Doctors Examine Imran Khan in Adiala Jail Under Supreme Court Orders

[post-views]

A team of senior medical specialists conducted a detailed health examination of former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail, following directions from the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The court had instructed authorities to complete his medical assessment before February 16.

According to jail officials, the medical board included specialists from multiple hospitals, with particular attention given to his reported eye condition. An ambulance from Holy Family Hospital, carrying specialised equipment, medicines and eye-testing machinery, was brought inside the prison to facilitate the examination.

An initial report has been submitted to the Punjab government, outlining his vital signs — including blood pressure, pulse, temperature and blood sugar levels — along with a written update on his eye health. Authorities say his condition is being monitored daily by jail medical staff.

The federal government has also formed a high-level panel, including Dr Amjad and Dr Nadeem Qureshi, to review the case. Any decision about shifting him to a hospital will depend on the board’s final recommendations. Meanwhile, PTI leaders have demanded full transparency regarding his medical care.
