WhatsApp amps up group chat features to make it more thrilling

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

WhatsApp, owned by Meta, has recently unveiled three new features for group conversations, providing greater authority to the admins and enhancing the overall experience.

In a tweet, the popular instant messaging platform exclaimed, “We’re all about that extra!” It added, “In light of the fact that group chats thrive on engagement, we’ve incorporated innovative functionalities to boost your group conversations.”

The first feature is the “Admin controls” tool, enabling the group’s admin to decide which members are permitted to change the group’s name, icon and description. This will be particularly helpful in larger group conversations where too many members could cause chaos.

The second feature is “Permission for participants” that allows the admin to manage which members have the authority to modify the group information, including the name, profile picture and description.

Finally, the “Group settings” function is designed to provide greater control over the conversation’s dynamics. Admins can now set the chat to read-only mode, allowing only the admin to send messages, thereby ensuring that the message quality is maintained.
