World Cup Winner Imran Khan in NAB Custody

In a recent development, former Pakistan captain and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan was apprehended by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the Al-Qadir Trust case, as per Republic Policy News.

The World Cup-winning captain, who later became a renowned politician, was taken into custody by Rangers personnel who were acting on the NAB’s warrant from the premises of Islamabad High Court. Khan had gone there to seek bail in multiple cases registered against him.

According to the NAB notice, Khan’s warrants were issued on May 1 by NAB chairman Lt Gen (retd) Nazir Ahmad Butt. In a statement, Inspector General of Police, (IGP) Islamabad Dr Akbar Nasir Khan stated that Imran Khan was detained in the Al-Qadir Trust case. He further added that the situation is under control.
