The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, emphasized on Wednesday that while the desecration of the Holy Quran may not be considered a crime in certain nations, it is strictly penalized within Russia.
“In our nation, this act is deemed unlawful under both our Constitution and penal code,” stated Putin, as reported by Turkey’s Anadolu Agency.
During his visit to Derbent in the Dagestan Autonomous Republic of the Russian Federation, the Russian leader, who is currently engaged in conflict with Ukraine, expressed this viewpoint.
During his time in Derbent, he took the opportunity to explore the historic mosque and engage with Muslim representatives from Dagestan, as confirmed by the agency.
