ISLAMABAD: In a bid to promote religious tourism and enhance the experience for Pakistani pilgrims, Saudi Arabia has announced an extension of the Umrah visa duration for Pakistani visitors, allowing them up to 90 days for their religious journey. This significant decision was disclosed by Dr. Tawfiq Bin Fawzan Al Rabiah, the Saudi Minister for Hajj and Umrah, during a joint press conference with the Caretaker Minister for Religious Affairs, Aneeq Ahmed.
Dr. Tawfiq emphasized the Saudi government’s commitment to facilitating pilgrims from Pakistan during their religious pilgrimage and fostering a close working relationship between Pakistani and Saudi authorities in this regard.
Additionally, he revealed that Saudi Arabia is opening more sites in Makkah and Madinah for pilgrims, including approximately 100 historical and religious places. This move is aimed at promoting religious tourism and enhancing the overall experience for pilgrims in the two holy cities.
Dr. Tawfiq also highlighted Riyadh’s ongoing efforts to reduce Hajj expenses for pilgrims, underscoring the strong and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. This extension of Umrah visa duration and the opening of new sites reflect Saudi Arabia’s commitment to welcoming and accommodating pilgrims from around the world.
