Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar ul Haq Kakar has expressed the government’s determination to protect every child of the country from polio virus.

He was speaking to a delegation of Rotary International led by Stephen A. Archik in Islamabad.

The Prime Minister appreciated the services of Rotary International in polio eradication, education and other sectors.

Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar also appreciated the role of international community and development organizations in eradicating polio from Pakistan.

He said that the government would extend all possible support to Rotary International and hoped that the organization would increase the reach of its programs in Pakistan.

Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar also congratulated Stephanie A. Archak on becoming the first woman president of Rotary International.

The prime minister was briefed that the Rotary Pakistan Smart Village program will help improve the quality of life of people by leveraging innovation and technology.

It was reported that Rotary International has donated 800,000 books in Pakistan, of which 200,000 books were distributed in Balochistan alone.

The delegation presented a gift of 10 thousand more books to the Prime Minister which will be distributed in different parts of the country.
