While much of the country is experiencing snowfall and cold weather, Balochistan is expected to face a dry winter this year, with Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz forecasting below-average rainfall in the province.

Sarfaraz announced on Tuesday that December will see little to no rainfall, and the region will experience dry, cold conditions throughout the month. Although light rain and snowfall are possible in early January, overall rainfall is expected to remain below normal for the month as well.

The meteorologist also warned that the extended dry spell could affect agriculture and water supplies in the region, urging residents to prepare for the chilly conditions and take precautions.

The weather has been especially cold in the Quetta valley and surrounding districts, with temperatures dropping below freezing in several areas. On Monday, the minimum temperature in Quetta was recorded at -4°C, while Kalat saw a low of -6°C.

In addition to the cold, unannounced gas and electricity outages are further impacting daily life in the province. The cold temperatures are also affecting parts of Sindh, including Karachi, where a mild cold wave has been felt, influenced by northeasterly winds from Balochistan.
