Islamabad: The third important phase of the national elections to be held on February 8 has started today. Candidates are filing appeals today against rejection of nomination papers.
Umair Khan Niazi
Tehreek-e-Insaf candidate Umair Khan Niazi filed an appeal from NA 89 and 90 Mianwali, which was accepted for hearing. Justice Chaudhary Abdul Aziz issued a notice to Returning Officer Mianwali and Election Commissioner Punjab and called for all the records till tomorrow.
Imran Khan’s focal person for legal affairs and PTI’s Additional General Secretary Umair Khan Niazi has pleaded that my papers were rejected from NA 89 and 90 in political revenge, annulling the Returning Officer’s decision to contest the election. Be allowed.
Firdous Shamim Naqvi
From NA-236, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf leader Firdous Shamim Naqvi and independent candidates from other constituencies filed appeals in the Election Tribunal.
Zartaj Gul
Mohiuddin Khosa of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf and Zartaj Gul of PTI from PP-290 DG Khan filed appeals against rejection of papers from NA-185 DG Khan.
Shoaib Shaheen
Tehreek-e-Insaf candidate Shoaib Shaheen filed an appeal against the rejection of his nomination papers from three National Assembly constituencies in Islamabad.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
In KP too, PTI candidates filed appeals in the Election Tribunal, including Ali Muhammad Khan from NA 23 Mardan, Mujahid Khan from NA 21 Mardan, Zahir Shah Toro PK 57, Abdul Salam Afridi PK 58, Iftikhar. Mashwani PK 60, Ameer Farzand Khan PK 56, NA 35 Kohat Aftab Alam, NA 31 Hangu to Yusuf Khan, Hangu to Abu Tarab.
Punjab
Mian Mehmood-ul-Rashid from PP-169, Barrister Shahid Masood from NA-131 Qasur filed an appeal against the decision to reject the nomination papers, saying that the returning officer rejected the nomination papers unjustifiably on the basis of PTI affiliation.
Election process
Appeals can be filed today from January 1 to January 3 i.e. Wednesday. A special cell has been set up to receive appeals of candidates in the High Courts.
