Argentina’s Cornfield Celebration: Messi’s Image in the Fields

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

In the small town of Los Condores, a farmer has paid tribute to Argentina’s national football team’s recent World Cup victory by planting a cornfield in the shape of team captain Lionel Messi’s face.

The field was sown using an algorithm that calculated where seeds needed to be planted to create a visual image of Messi’s bearded visage. The farmer, Maximiliano Spinazze, said, “For me Messi is unbeatable” and that he was delighted to express the team’s victory through planting the crop.

Argentina is not only known for its love of football but also for being a major agricultural producer and the third-largest global exporter of corn.
