At least five people were killed in Gwadar district on Wednesday night after armed men intercepted a passenger bus on the main highway. The gunmen forced passengers off the bus in the Kalmat area, located between Pasni and Ormara, and then checked their ID cards before opening fire.

Former President Asif Ali Zardari condemned the brutal attack, describing the terrorists as enemies of the nation’s progress and Balochistan’s prosperity. He stated that these individuals are determined to hinder the development of the region.

In response, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called for an immediate investigation into the incident, urging authorities to identify the perpetrators and ensure they face exemplary punishment. He condemned the attack as a cowardly act of violence against innocent people, highlighting how it reflects the barbarity of those responsible.

This deadly attack follows earlier violence in Balochistan. On March 16, two separate explosions targeted security forces in Noshki and Qila Saifullah, resulting in five deaths and dozens of injuries. The first explosion, which occurred on the RCD Highway in Noshki, was confirmed to be a suicide bombing, killing five, including three soldiers, and injuring 32 others. The second explosion, at the Levies Line gate in Qila Saifullah, caused extensive damage but no casualties.
