In North Waziristan District’s Miran Shah, an army major and a fellow soldier were tragically killed during an intelligence-based operation conducted by security forces, as reported by the military’s public relations office on Friday.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that when the security forces initiated the operation, they encountered a group of terrorists. Leading the operation from the front, Major Amir Aziz engaged with the terrorists.

In the ensuing firefight, one terrorist was neutralized, and another sustained injuries. Regrettably, Major Amir, aged 29, and Sepoy Muhammad Arif, aged 27, were martyred during the intense exchange of gunfire.

The army’s media department added that efforts are underway to clear the area of any remaining terrorists as part of the sanitization process.
