Washington: Spokesperson of the Department of State, Miller, while giving a media briefing in Washington, said that the ban on social media platforms in Pakistan is unacceptable.

Miller said that we support freedom of expression in Pakistan like the rest of the world. We condemn government-imposed partial or total shutdowns of Internet platforms, including X, and will therefore continue to emphasize the importance of respecting these fundamental freedoms in our engagements with the Pakistani authorities.

Responding to a question regarding irregularities in recent elections in Pakistan, Miller said Pakistan had a competitive election. Millions and millions of people heard their voices. A new government has been formed and we will definitely work with this government. Irregularities were also reported. There have been challenges to the results by political parties and we want to see a thorough investigation into these challenges and the irregularities.
