Pursuing one’s passions is critical for social, cultural, aesthetical, economic, philosophical, emotional, intuitive, and self-realization aspects of life. The process of self-negation of the passions will end up in depression and frustration. Therefore, it is generally presumed that if one’s passion becomes one’s career, one might be the happiest person on the planet. Living in Pakistan, it has always been a conflict between passion and career. We opt for those professions and careers, mostly not in link with the internal emotional and psychological scheme of one’s life makeup. There are social and cultural pressures, which, more often than not, decide the outcomes of our professions. Therefore, we mostly end up with those professions, careers, and occupations directly in conflict with our emotional makeup. Thus, the conflict burns us internally for the rest of our lives. Hence, whatever the circumstances are, the preference for pursuing passions is a sacred cause and a poetic justice to one’s emotional scheme of life.
When people pursue their passions, they are more likely to be engaged and productive members of society. They are also more likely to contribute to their communities in meaningful ways. For example, a person who is passionate about education may volunteer to tutor children or mentor at-risk youth. A person who is passionate about environmental protection may volunteer to clean up a local park or advocate for sustainable policies. Furthermore, a person who is passionate about being a singer might produce the best music. Pursuing passions will ignite the imagination, and it will cause the creation critical for the growth and development of society. Furthermore, passionate people are often at the forefront of cultural innovation. They are the artists, musicians, writers, and entrepreneurs who create new and exciting things. For example, Steve Jobs was passionate about technology and design, and he used his passion to create some of the most iconic products of our time, such as the iPhone and the Mac computer. J.K. Rowling was passionate about storytelling, and she used her passion to write the Harry Potter series, which has captivated millions of readers around the world. Virat Kohli is passionate about cricket, and he has entertained the whole cricket world. Likewise, the passion of Shoaib Akhtar made him the fastest bowler on the planet. People with passions bring changes; even passionate politicians and governors can bring about administrative and political changes in a society. The great and successful men were indeed men of passion.
Passionate people often have a deep appreciation for beauty. They are drawn to things that are aesthetically pleasing, and they often use their own creativity to create beautiful things. For example, a painter may be passionate about using colour and light to create evocative images. A musician may be passionate about using sound to create moving melodies and harmonies. A writer may be passionate about using language to create vivid and evocative descriptions. Therefore, passion is the foundation of hard work and consistency. The art forms are dependent upon the enforceability of passion. Accordingly, most artists are passionate about their work and, thus, produce the best artwork for the aesthetical gratification of humans. Passion is their drive and the reason to succeed.

Apart from art forms, passionate people are also more likely to be successful entrepreneurs. They are also more likely to be productive and innovative employees. For example, a study by the University of Warwick found that employees who are passionate about their work are 13% more productive than those who are not passionate. The passion provides the required administrative drive critical for the execution of administrative tasks. Even the sentiment of passion is vital for administrative drives. Passion provides motivation, and therefore, it is crucial that people choose those professions which are linked to their passions. If one’s profession is not consistent with one’s passion, one may not find the appropriate desire or propelling motivation to work and provide administrative justice to one’s profession.
Pursuing one’s passions is consistent with many different philosophical traditions. For example, Aristotle believed that the highest good in life is to live a life of eudaimonia, or flourishing. He argued that flourishing is achieved by engaging in activities that are consistent with one’s virtues. Similarly, the Stoic philosophers believed that the key to a happy and fulfilling life is to live in accordance with nature. This means accepting what is beyond our control and focusing on what we can control, such as our own thoughts, actions, and attitudes. Henceforth, pursuing one’s passions can lead to a great deal of emotional satisfaction. When people are doing something that they love, they are more likely to feel happy, fulfilled, and engaged. They are also less likely to experience stress, anxiety, and depression.

A human is a makeup of instincts. Therefore, it is vital to know one’s instincts and choose the derived life preferences accordingly. Humans have a natural instinct to seek out and pursue activities that are pleasurable and rewarding. This instinct is thought to have evolved as a way to motivate us to engage in activities that are essential for our survival and well-being. Pursuing our passions is a way to tap into this instinct and live a more fulfilling life. Maslow’s hierarchy of needs is a theory of human motivation that suggests that people are motivated by a series of needs, ranging from basic physiological needs to higher-level needs such as self-actualization. Self-actualization is the need to reach one’s full potential as a human being. Pursuing one’s passions is a way to achieve self-actualization and live a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
While there are many benefits to pursuing one’s passions, it is essential to note that it is not always easy or straightforward to pursue one’s passions. Sometimes, our passions may conflict with other important goals, such as our financial needs or our family obligations. Additionally, it is important to be realistic about our abilities and to choose passions that we are capable of pursuing. Therefore, the option to choose passion over harsh realities is a matter of conflict, confrontation and challenge. However, despite the challenges, pursuing one’s passions is a worthwhile endeavor. It can lead to a more fulfilling and meaningful life. It can also contribute to society in positive ways. When people are pursuing their passions, they are more likely to be engaged and productive members of society. They are also more likely to make positive contributions to their communities and to the world at large.
Hence, pursuing one’s passions is critical for social, cultural, aesthetical, economic, philosophical, emotional, instinctive, and self-realization aspects of life. It can lead to a more fulfilling and meaningful life, both for the individual and for society as a whole. Therefore, it is worth a gamble.
