Caretaker PM Kakar Foresees Positive Economic News in the Coming Weeks
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has expressed optimism about the country’s economic prospects, stating that positive developments are anticipated within the next few weeks. In an interview with a private television channel, he commended the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) for its role in maintaining economic policy consistency.
PM Kakar further revealed that before the end of the current caretaker setup, projects involving “substantial” investments under the SIFC will be finalized.
Regarding the country’s political landscape, the Prime Minister reiterated that general elections will be held on February 8th of next year. He emphasized that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is actively making preparations to ensure free and fair elections, a responsibility entrusted to them.
The government, he stated, is committed to upholding transparency throughout the electoral process. He also clarified that there are no restrictions on any political party, including the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), in organizing election-related activities.
Addressing concerns about a level playing field for political parties, PM Kakar asserted that the caretaker government maintains no favoritism towards any particular party. He stated that the political party chosen by the people will form the next government.
