BEIJING: In a meeting between Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar and Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of Peoples on Thursday, Pakistan and China reaffirmed their commitment to the continuous progression of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Both nations expressed their determination to transform CPEC into a conduit for enduring economic development.The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Third Belt and Road Forum, an event attended by PM Kakar in Beijing.During the discussions, both sides concurred on their shared objective of making CPEC a pathway characterized by growth, improved living standards, innovation, openness, and environmentally friendly development. This vision aligns with Pakistan’s aspiration for sustainable and comprehensive socio-economic progress.Prime Minister Kakar extended his congratulations to President Xi for the successful organization of the 3rd Belt and Road Forum and commended the eight-point agenda put forth by the President, which outlines the future direction and scope of the Belt and Road Initiative.
