Wang emphasized that China will support any resolution that promotes peace in the region. He called the ongoing conflict a crucial choice between war and peace. Additionally, Wang urged Israel to take effective measures to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens and institutions in the Middle East, emphasizing the importance of adhering to international humanitarian law to protect civilians.
China has condemned violence and attacks on civilians but has not explicitly named any specific parties, such as Hamas, in its comments. Furthermore, in a separate conversation with Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki, Wang expressed deep sympathy for the people of Gaza and stressed the need for security, peace efforts, and an authoritative international peace conference.
China also called for the United Nations Security Council to fulfill its responsibility promptly and for the international community to act urgently, with major powers maintaining objectivity and impartiality in the region.
