China expressed hope that all relevant parties would take the opportunity to pursue peace and resolve their differences through dialogue, a foreign ministry spokesperson said on Tuesday, commenting on a U.S. ceasefire proposal mediated by Pakistan, which Iran has rejected.
During a routine press briefing, ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said that China welcomes any initiatives that promote peace and supports Pakistan’s active mediation efforts.
As the deadline for U.S. President Trump’s “hell” ultimatum approaches, Iran has rejected the ceasefire proposal.
Mao emphasized that achieving a ceasefire quickly and resuming dialogue reflects the shared desire of the international community, adding that China is ready to play a constructive role in facilitating this process.
