Christian Man Dies who was Attacked by Mob in Sargodha

An elderly Christian man in Pakistan fell victim to a brutal mob attack after claims of burning the Holy Quran circulated in the Muslim community. Nazir Masih, who was over 70 years old, was severely beaten by the enraged mob in Sargodha. The incident occurred on May 25 in the predominantly Christian Mujahid colony. The mob accused him of burning pages from the Quran. As a result, they not only attacked Nazir but also looted and burned his son’s shoe shop and set fire to their family home.

Despite undergoing two surgeries, Nazir did not recover from the head injuries sustained during the attack. He passed away after nine days of treatment at the Combined Military Hospital in Rawalpindi. Authorities have arrested 15 people involved in the incident, and the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan has called for justice. It is an unfortunate incident, and the perpetrators must be dealt with according to the law.
