Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa has called for a meeting of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) to address complaints against judges of superior courts, including Justice Sayyed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi. The meeting is scheduled for tomorrow at 11:30 AM, marking the first gathering of the SJC under CJP Isa’s leadership in over three years.
The SJC, presided over by CJP Isa, also comprises two senior judges from the apex court, namely Justice Tariq Masood and Justice Ijaz Ul Ahsan. This constitutional forum holds the authority to investigate and potentially remove judges from superior courts in response to various allegations.
Complaints have been lodged against multiple judges within the superior court system, and it is anticipated that the SJC will address the allegations against Justice Naqvi during its upcoming meeting.
