On Tuesday, Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, the Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), provided an effective clarification of the army’s stance on various matters such as terrorism, the situation at the borders, economic and political affairs.

During his first press briefing since taking over as head of the military’s media affairs wing, the ISPR DG stated that everyone has the right to express their opinions and analysis. He also added that the “centre of real power” is the nation, according to Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir.

The Pakistan Army’s spokespersons have repeatedly denied accusations that the military favors any political party, as political parties blame each other for having the establishment’s backing. Maj-Gen Chaudhry reiterated that the Pakistan Army is a national army that holds all political parties in high regard, without leaning towards any political party or ideology.
