The federal government has reduced the price of high speed diesel by Rs14 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs265.65 for the next fortnight. The decision aims to ease transport and production costs, as diesel remains a key input for agriculture, freight, and industry. According to the official notification, the price revision takes effect from December 16 and follows recommendations submitted by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority.

Meanwhile, the price of petrol has been kept unchanged at Rs263.45 per litre. In the previous fortnightly review, the government had reduced petrol by Rs2 per litre and diesel by Rs4.79 per litre. The continued adjustments reflect the government’s effort to balance fiscal pressures with public relief amid fluctuating global oil prices.
