As the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) continued its protest in Islamabad for the second day, the sudden disappearance of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has raised questions and fueled speculation about his whereabouts. The adviser to KP CM on Information Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif stated that CM Gandapur was accompanied by his staff when Rangers personnel entered the KP House in Islamabad. There were concerns about his location as no one has been able to contact the chief minister, despite his reported arrival at the KP House after leaving the motorway. Speculations about his potential arrest were addressed, with claims that it would be a contempt of court as the Peshawar High Court had granted him bail. Despite reports of his arrest, closer sources to the government denied these claims.

The KP government official defended the ongoing protests, stating that every citizen has the right to hold demonstrations in accordance with the Constitution. However, the situation in Islamabad remains tense, with clashes between law enforcers and party workers. The Islamabad High Court ordered local authorities to allocate a designated place for the PTI to organize its demonstration and to prevent any unlawful protests that may disrupt peace during the period of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s meeting. Furthermore, Asad Qaiser has said that the KPK chief minister has been abducted, and the province will do everything to rescue their elected chief minister.
