Authorities reported on Saturday the arrest of five members of a notorious drug trafficking ring at the border area of Shakargarh in Baramanga. DSP Rai Ehsan Elahi confirmed during a press briefing that the gangsters were caught red-handed with three kilograms of heroin, eight batteries, and a drone camera used for smuggling drugs into India.
According to police, the suspects utilized Whatsapp to receive destination locations for their drug deliveries and received instructions from Dubai. They used drone cameras to transport the illegal substances across the border, while also being aided by their contacts in India.
Of the five arrested suspects, two hailed from Lahore while the remaining two were from Shakargarh. Law enforcement officials emphasized that the operation was a major victory in the war against drug trafficking and vowed to continue their efforts to rid the area of criminal elements.
