Election Commission of Pakistan to Begin Hearing 1,324 Objections on Constituency Delimitation

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has received a substantial 1,324 objections related to the initial delimitation of constituencies and is scheduled to commence hearings on November 1, as per a report by The News on Sunday.

In response to public convenience, the ECP had extended the objection filing deadline until 12 pm on October 27.

Among these 1,324 objections, the highest number, 672, were filed in Punjab, with 228 objections from Sindh, 293 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 124 from Balochistan, and seven from Islamabad.

The ECP expressed its readiness to address these objections, confirming that hearings will commence on November 1, 2023. Special benches have been established for this purpose. Notices have been dispatched to objectors, informing them of their hearing dates, which are scheduled for November 1 and 2. Following the hearings, the final list of constituencies is expected to be unveiled on November 30.
