The federal government has announced a Rs1 per litre reduction in petrol prices, starting March 29, as per a notification from the Finance Division issued on Friday. Following this price cut, petrol will now cost Rs254.63 per litre, down from Rs255.63.
Despite the reduction in petrol prices, the cost of High-Speed Diesel remains unchanged at Rs258.64 per litre.
The new pricing structure, recommended by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), reflects global market trends. OGRA evaluated international oil prices and suggested these adjustments to help ease the financial burden on consumers, according to the Finance Division’s statement.
