Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi criticized the ruling coalition for attempting to make changes to the Constitution without proper parliamentary debate. He emphasized that all legislative and constitutional amendments should be openly discussed in parliament, rather than in secret. Abbasi also called for a national dialogue among political parties to address the proposed constitutional amendments.
Additionally, he expressed concerns about the delay in the trial of incarcerated former prime minister Imran Khan and highlighted the unfulfilled promises made to the tribal people following the merger of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Abbasi also commented on the recent road blockages due to a PTI protest, emphasizing that protests and rallies are fundamental rights of any political party and should be allowed by the government.
