Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar strongly urged the international community on Saturday to hold Israel accountable for its relentless assault on Gaza, branding it as both a war and humanitarian crime.
This call came during the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit, where leaders from the Arab and Islamic nations convened to address the escalating crisis in Gaza and strategize for the future.
Among the attendees were prominent leaders, including Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, who was readmitted to the Arab League earlier this year.
Kakar proposed that Arab and Islamic nations should consider exploring avenues, including initiating proceedings at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), to hold Israel accountable for war crimes and crimes against humanity. This action would be pursued under the Genocide Convention, with an emphasis on interim measures to address the pressing situation.
