The government has updated fuel prices for the next two weeks, with petrol prices staying the same while high-speed diesel prices are reduced by Rs. 3.05 per litre, effective from midnight Sunday.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the price of petrol will remain at Rs. 252.10 per litre. However, the price of high-speed diesel will decrease to Rs. 255.38 per litre, down by Rs. 3.05.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) determined these changes based on fluctuations in international oil prices.
Diesel, which is widely used in the transport and agriculture sectors, will see this price cut, which is expected to ease inflationary pressures on consumers.
This price update follows a petrol and diesel price hike earlier in December, where petrol increased by Rs. 3.72 per litre and high-speed diesel went up by Rs. 3.29 per litre.
Additionally, the price of light diesel oil has been reduced by 48 paisa per litre to Rs. 151.73, while kerosene oil has dropped by 62 paisa per litre to Rs. 164.98.
The new prices will take effect at midnight and will remain in place for the next 15 days.
