Amid rising terrorist threats in Balochistan, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced an increase in intelligence-based operations across the province on Sunday. This decision comes on the heels of a tragic explosion near Quetta Railway Station that resulted in 27 fatalities and left over 50 injured.

During a high-level meeting focused on Balochistan’s security, Naqvi assured that the federal government would fully support the provincial authorities in combating terrorism. “We are committed to providing all necessary assistance to help the Balochistan government address this threat,” he stated, highlighting the urgent need to strengthen the province’s security framework.

Plans were revealed to enhance law enforcement capabilities, which include specialized training and development initiatives for the provincial Police, Counter-Terrorism Department, Levies, and other security personnel.

Naqvi also extended condolences to the families of the victims from the recent blast, emphasizing, “This battle against terrorism is a shared duty, and we must emerge victorious against those who threaten our peace.”

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti expressed the provincial government’s dedication to improving security, declaring, “A small group is behind these attacks, and we are committed to completely rooting them out.”

The meeting saw participation from senior officials, including Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Home Shahab Ali Shah, IG Police Moazzam Jah Ansari, and Quetta Division Commissioner Hamza Shafqaat, who collaborated on strategies to enhance safety and address the recent violence.
