In a promising development for students, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has introduced Commonwealth Scholarships for master’s and PhD programs in 2023.
These scholarships are facilitated by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK (CSC) as part of the UK government’s initiative to promote international development objectives. The CSC has supported more than 30,000 individuals to pursue their studies in the UK, enabling them to acquire valuable skills, knowledge, and global networks to address pressing global development challenges.
Students from Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) have the opportunity to apply for these scholarships until October 17th, as per the announcement on the CSC portal.
The HEC’s official website has stated that there are 26 available nominations for master’s programs, 30 for PhD studies, and 10 for teaching faculty pursuing their PhDs.
