If I am arrested, I will fight the election from jail. Sheikh Rasheed

Rawalpindi: Awami Muslim League chief and former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has said that he will contest elections from jail if he is arrested by the police.

Talking to the media outside the Anti-Terrorism Court, he said that he went on meditation (chala) for 40 days and made sacrifices but did not hold any press conference. He added that he did not complain against anyone [register cases against him] and left the matter to Allah.

Sheikh Rasheed said that if he is arrested, he and Rasheed Shafiq will contest the election from jail on ink and pen.

He claimed that he will win with a huge majority from two constituencies on February 8. The people of Rawalpindi are aware of their service.

Addressing the voters, he said that it is their duty to vote on February 8. The nation was plunged into inflation and unemployment and they are on a mission to get rid of it
