Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has called on the judiciary to take action against the audio leaks, stating that recording conversations is a violation of basic rights. Speaking via video link with Ms Rashid by his side, Mr Khan emphasized the importance of implementing the law in regards to leaked audio tapes.
“There is a law in the country concerning audio tapes,” he stated. Mr Khan went on to express his disappointment at the leaked audio tape of Ms Rashid, saying that according to the law, no one’s audio can be recorded without a court order.
He also mentioned a petition that was filed in the Supreme Court four months ago regarding audio tapes.
Meanwhile, Ms Rashid expressed concern that the evidence related to the attempted assassination of Mr Khan had not been presented. She claimed that the PDM had disappeared along with the evidence related to the Wazirabad incident, and said that according to the Fair Trial Act, no one’s phone could be tapped.
