Imran Khan to Receive Hospital Treatment Amid Health Concerns, Govt Assures Care

[post-views]

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Friday confirmed that former Prime Minister Imran Khan, currently imprisoned at Adiala Jail, will be taken to a hospital twice in the coming days and will receive an important injection on February 25. The announcement follows growing concerns over Khan’s eye condition, right central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO), which has left him with limited vision.

Chaudhry assured that the government’s top priority is providing the best medical care, noting that Khan had previously been treated at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) on doctors’ advice. He added that PTI leadership and family members had been invited to accompany him during prior examinations, but internal divisions within the party prevented their attendance.

The minister emphasized that since Khan is in state custody, the government is responsible for his health and reiterated that personal physicians Dr Faisal Sultan and Dr Aasim Yusuf could be involved if requested, though questions remain over their roles. Meanwhile, opposition groups continue to demand unrestricted access and complete transparency regarding his treatment.
