The government has launched a nationwide campaign aimed at repatriating foreign nationals residing in the country without proper documentation, including Afghan citizens whose visas have expired.In a historic move, the Interior Ministry has issued directives to all provinces to enforce the Foreign Act of 1946, facilitating the deportation of undocumented foreign residents.The interim government has issued a stern warning, stating that legal action will be taken against any Pakistani individuals found to be harboring undocumented foreign nationals.This repatriation initiative will be applied uniformly to all foreign residents residing unlawfully in Pakistan, with no exceptions based on their country of origin.Security forces have employed advanced techniques, including mapping and geo-fencing, to successfully identify illegal Afghan residents. In Sindh alone, the identification process for 200,000 undocumented foreigners has been completed.In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, out of the 300,000 Afghan nationals residing unlawfully, those who do not depart voluntarily will be relocated to designated detention centers.In Punjab and Balochistan, a similar operation has been initiated to identify and deport undocumented Afghan residents, with their information being meticulously verified through scanning methods.
