In a startling revelation, Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) exposed a sweeping covert mission orchestrated by the United States, employing cutting-edge surveillance software to compromise thousands of iPhones. According to Moscow-based cybersecurity firm, Kaspersky Lab, the infiltration had a significant impact on the personal devices of its employees.

In an official communiqué, the FSB, the modern successor to the Soviet-era KGB, unveiled the extent of the breach, which affected a multitude of Apple Inc devices. These compromised smartphones belonged to both Russian citizens and foreign diplomats residing in Russia and other countries within the former Soviet Union.

“The FSB has uncovered an intelligence campaign carried out by American special forces utilizing Apple mobile devices,” declared the FSB statement. Moreover, the FSB asserted that this covert operation showcased “intimate collaboration” between Apple and the National Security Agency (NSA), the U.S. agency entrusted with cryptographic and communications intelligence and security. However, the FSB failed to furnish any substantiating evidence to support the claim of Apple’s involvement or awareness of the espionage endeavor.
