Iran’s Revolutionary Guards reported on Sunday that several “flying objects” were destroyed during a US operation to locate a stranded airman, according to Tasnim news agency.
The Guards stated that in a joint operation involving the Aerospace Force, Ground Forces, Popular Mobilization Units, Basij, and Police Command, enemy aerial assets were successfully targeted. This announcement followed Iran’s police report that an American C-130 aircraft had been downed in southern Isfahan.
A spokesperson for Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, the unified command of Iran’s armed forces, confirmed that the downed US aircraft included a C-130 military transport plane and two Black Hawk helicopters.
Earlier on Sunday, the Iranian army also reported that it had shot down an Israeli drone in the same province.
