Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, arrived in Islamabad on Monday for a two-day visit aimed at strengthening the relationship between Iran and Pakistan.
During his stay, he will discuss important topics like trade, energy, and security at the border, showing both countries’ desire to work closer together as the Middle East changes.
The Foreign Office announced that Araghchi will meet with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar separately.
This visit is seen as a chance to enhance cooperation and open dialogue on important strategic and economic issues.
Additionally, Araghchi is likely to talk about the upcoming Islamic Summit in Saudi Arabia, highlighting the significance of regional diplomacy.
Border security will be a key focus as relations between the two countries have been tense earlier this year.
This visit comes after a meaningful trip by Iran’s late president Ebrahim Raisi in April, indicating a push for deeper collaboration with Pakistan. Araghchi’s trip could lead to improved stability and shared interests in the region.
