The district administration of Islamabad has announced that all educational institutions in the capital will remain closed on Monday due to the ongoing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest. The Deputy Commissioner confirmed the closure, citing the current law and order situation, and assured that an official notification would be issued soon.

Abdul Waheed, General Secretary of the Private Schools Association, also confirmed that private schools would be closed, expressing concern for the safety of students amid the unrest. In a similar move, COMSATS University Islamabad will hold online classes for the day.

The closures come as the government takes strict security measures to manage the PTI protest at D-Chowk. Entry points to Islamabad’s Red Zone have been sealed with shipping containers, and key roads, including Srinagar Highway, Jinnah Avenue, and the Islamabad Expressway, are blocked, causing major traffic disruptions.

Authorities have also closed major motorways leading into Islamabad to prevent protesters from entering the city. PTI supporters from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab have been heading towards Islamabad for the protest, following a call by party leader Imran Khan, who remains incarcerated in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail.
