At least 12 people were killed and 20 others injured on Tuesday in a suicide bombing outside the District and Sessions Court in Islamabad’s G-11 area. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi told reporters that the attack was “not just another bombing” but a serious breach occurring in the heart of the capital. President Asif Ali Zardari confirmed it was a suicide blast, while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attack as a “terrorist act by Indian proxy groups” targeting innocent civilians. He vowed that the perpetrators would face justice.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif termed the attack a “wake-up call,” warning that Pakistan remains in a state of war. “Anyone who thinks the fight is limited to remote regions must rethink,” he said, underscoring the growing threat of urban terrorism.
