Israeli Troops gun down Palestinian teen

RAMALLAH: Israeli forces claimed the life of a 17-year-old Palestinian during a raid in the occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian health ministry. The Israeli army labeled the youth as a triggerman who took aim at their troops.

Hamzeh al-Ashkar met his untimely demise at the hands of soldiers who launched a dawn raid in the northern city of Nablus and shot him in the face.

“The teen was packing heat and let loose on the Israeli forces,” a military spokesperson confirmed.

A band of Nablus fighters called The Den of Lions, with shifting alliances, reported that some of its members engaged in a shoot-out with Israeli forces who had “barged into a housing complex.”

Although the group stated that the deceased teen was from the Askar refugee camp near Nablus, they did not claim him as one of their own.

In other early-morning news, Israeli forces rounded up at least 18 Palestinians in the northern West Bank town of Burqin near Jenin, according to the Palestinian Prisoners Club advocacy group.
