Karachi Police use tear gas and batons to disperse JUI(F) workers protesting against election rigging

Police used tear gas and lathi charge to disperse JUI(F) protesters on Shahrah Faisal in Karachi. Protesters were trying to move towards Karachi Press Club while striking against election rigging.

According to the details, the protestors became enraged when they were prevented from marching towards the Press Club and pelted stones at the police party. The police used lathi charge and tear gas to disperse the protestors.

JUIF’s protest rally was led by its provincial chief Rashid Soomro.

Opposition parties including Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Grand Democratic Alliance and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) have united in their protest against alleged rigging of the 2024 general elections.

The parties protested outside the Sindh Assembly. During the demonstration, the police arrested 10 activists of the National People’s Movement.
