King Abdullah the Second of Jordan arrived in Islamabad on a two day visit. He was invited by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The King landed on Saturday with a high level delegation. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received him at the airport. Federal Minister for Climate Change Musaddiq Malik and Minister of State for Education Wajiha Qamar were also present.
President Zardari said the visit will give a new strategic strength to Pakistan Jordan relations. He said both countries share deep ties based on history trust and shared values. As the royal aircraft entered Pakistani airspace a formation of Pakistan Air Force JF 17 aircraft escorted it to Islamabad. This gesture showed the respect given to the King by Pakistan.
The King will visit the Prime Minister House for a guard of honour. He will meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for bilateral talks. Delegation level discussions will also take place. Both sides will explore new areas of political economic and cultural cooperation. The government said the visit will expand the scope of partnership between the two brotherly states.
