Former One Direction singer Liam Payne’s sudden death has been unveiled, as the 31-year-old pop star was found dead on October 16 after falling from the balcony of the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires.
According to paramedics who arrived at the scene, Payne’s skull was severely fractured, along with multiple serious injuries, which led to his immediate death.
The chief of Buenos Aires emergency services, Alberto Crescenti, stated, “Our role was to respond quickly, administer medical care, and attempt to resuscitate him, but his injuries were incompatible with life.” He further explained that Payne’s cranial fracture and other grave injuries led to his instant passing.
Additionally, audio calls obtained by the police reveal a conversation between the hotel’s head of reception and emergency services. In one of the calls, the reception head described the guest as being “under the influence of drugs and alcohol,” noting that Payne had been breaking items in his room.
They further expressed concern that the guest was staying in a room with a balcony and feared for his safety.
Reports from TMZ also suggest that Payne had been behaving erratically in the hotel lobby and even damaged a laptop before being escorted back to his room.
