In the artbook titled “Spider-Man: No Way Home: The Art of the Movie,” Ryan Meinerding, the head of Marvel’s Visual Department, christened the collection as the “Home” trilogy. This trilogy saga began in 2017 with “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” continued with “Far From Home” in 2019, and reached its multiverse pinnacle with “No Way Home” in 2021. Notably, the forthcoming “Spider-Man 4” and the animated “Spider-Man: Freshman Year” are currently in development.
Previously, Marvel Studios had simply referred to Tom Holland’s trilogy as a three-part original Spider-Man story. However, recognizing its significance, the studio has bestowed it with a distinct name.
Director Jon Watts, at the helm of the “Home” trilogy series, shared insights into the creative process, stating, “…if you start sophomore year, you could do sophomore year, junior year, senior year – one movie at a time.” This approach allowed for the comprehensive storytelling that fans have cherished throughout the trilogy.
