Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has categorically rejected demands for an apology, declaring that she has nothing to apologize for. Speaking at the inauguration of the Green Electric Bus Service, she asserted that those who criticized Punjab during natural calamities must themselves seek forgiveness. In an indirect reference to the Pakistan Peoples Party, Maryam warned her political rivals to “think a hundred times before speaking about Punjab.”
Maryam underscored her government’s developmental vision, announcing that the bus fare has been fixed at Rs20, with free rides for women, students, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities. She further revealed that 90,000 housing units are under construction in 37 districts, with a goal of 100,000 by November. Reiterating her stance, she said she will continue to defend Punjab against detractors, insisting that her politics centers on raising the people’s voice.
