WASHINGTON DC: Massive crowds flooded streets across the United States on Saturday in “No Kings” protests opposing President Donald Trump’s policies and expanding executive powers. Demonstrations took place in New York, Washington DC, Chicago, Miami, and Los Angeles, with over seven million participants nationwide.
Chanting “Democracy not Monarchy” and “The Constitution is not optional,” protesters accused Trump of acting like a monarch since returning to the White House in January. The rallies remained peaceful despite warnings from Trump allies who branded the events as “Antifa-linked.”

The demonstrations followed Trump’s controversial use of executive orders to expand presidential authority, deploy National Guard troops to states without governors’ consent, and pressure law enforcement to pursue his political opponents.
In Times Square, New York, more than 100,000 people gathered, waving signs defending democracy. Similar protests erupted across Europe and Canada in solidarity. Speaking in Washington, Senator Bernie Sanders declared: “We’re not here because we hate America; we’re here because we love America.”

The protests highlight deep divisions in the US, where critics warn Trump’s actions threaten constitutional democracy, while his supporters dismiss the unrest as political hysteria.
