Pakistan and Iran have agreed to de-escalate tensions.
This agreement was reached today during the telephone conversation of Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir Abdullahian.
Emphasizing the close brotherly relations between Pakistan and Iran, the Foreign Minister expressed Pakistan’s desire to work with Iran on the basis of mutual trust and cooperation.
The Foreign Minister emphasized that respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty should be the basis of this cooperation.

The two foreign ministers agreed that cooperation and close coordination should be strengthened at the working level on counter-terrorism and other aspects of mutual concern.
The return of the ambassadors of the two countries to their respective capitals was also discussed.
